Having worked with many talented directors including Peyton Reed (Bring it On), Robert Rodriguez (Desperado), Jan De Bont (Speed), Brett Ratner (Rush Hour), and Doug Liman (The Bourne franchise), Erik C. Andersen learned the craft of editing by working with the masters. He found early success when he won an Emmy cutting A Community Of Caring - Joe for the American Heart Association. That success has followed Andersen throughout his career with the projects he edited, winning over 100 prestigious awards for their directors. Early in his career, Erik helped introduce one of the first computer-based editing systems, Lightworks, to the film industry. These systems have revolutionized the way editors cut today. Since then he helped pioneer post production workflows on films like How High, the first HD movie for Universal which was shot on the F900 Panavision/Sony 24p Camera, Killer Pad shot on the Viper using the tapeless D.Mag, and Locker 13 shot on the Red Camera. Erik is currently working with Fox to help establish a workflow for the Sony XD-Cam F800 (recording onto blu-ray disk) using Avid AMA. Along with Paul Hirsch, Stuart Bass and others, Andersen authored the book ”Transitions - Voices on the Craft of Digital Editing”. Andersen has honed his craft to the point that one director commented, "Erik was the best investment I made on my film." Based in Los Angeles, Erik is available for work worldwide.
